When making mugs, I initially thought it would be a simple process: take a standard white mug, print a design on it and you're done. Inspired by this idea, I designed the famous EuroElite mug. However, I ran into a problem when I decided that the mug should be a solid EuroElite blue.
The problem was that printing on mugs is usually only possible on a white background. Despite numerous inquiries to printers and manufacturers - I wrote 6-7 emails and had many conversations - the production of my specially designed mug initially seemed impossible due to its unique coloring.
As a solution, I was suggested a printing process that leaves about 1 centimeter of space around the edge. I created a mockup and shared the results on Discord, but neither attempt was satisfactory.
Eventually I decided to go back to the original design and found a solution. I discovered a ceramic workshop that is able to produce mugs in small series. These mugs were painted in my specific color and pad printed with the EuroElite design. A layer of clear varnish also makes the mugs dishwasher and microwave safe. Although they normally only produce in large quantities, the workshop made an exception for us.
The best part: we managed to get a fair price for the mugs. Now I have many boxes full of mugs, but I am so impressed by how they look that I am convinced you will snatch them out of my hands. This special version of the mug is produced as a limited edition of 200 pieces.
